Successful hot load tests have been carried out on the upgraded steel production facilities of Shanxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Zhongyang Iron and Steel Co., as announced by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC) on September 10. MCC subsidiary Shanghai Baoye Group Co. was responsible for the upgrading work.
The hot load tests in question involved two converters, one continuous casting machine and other related systems. The upgraded steel production facilities have an annual output capacity of 1.5 million mt of liquid steel, while the company has an overall annual liquid steel output capacity of 4 million mt.
